Question::
What microphones would you recommend to a poor dude trying to get a
decent sound recording acoustic guitar and vocals?

A- For a poor guy? You should be able to get every single sound you need out of a Shure 57 or 58, Beta or otherwise. I pretty much use them for everything except kick drum where I use an SM 67.
